Twelve flights to and from Germany have been cancelled at Dublin airport due to winter storms.

Air traffic in Frankfurt and Munich is severely restricted, the operating company Fraport announced.
Around 1030 flight movements are planned for Wednesday but many airlines were asked to cancel flights the day before.
Safety is the top priority in air traffic, explained Fraport. During heavy snowfall and freezing rain, the runways could not be kept free of snow and ice despite continuous winter maintenance.
