
The US FAA has completed 40 inspections on grounded Boeing 737-9 Max aircraft but did not provide an update on when they might be cleared to fly.
The FAA will review the findings of the inspections to determine if the maintenance and inspection conducted on the first batch of planes is sufficient. This process will need to be approved for every grounded plane before they can be cleared for flight.
Boeing has experienced several smaller manufacturing issues as production resumed.
The FAA ordered 171 Boeing planes out of service following an incident on January 5.
Preliminary reviews by airlines have revealed issues such as loose bolts.
Alaska Airlines and United, the two airlines with the most affected planes, have had to cancel hundreds of flights since the grounding.
