Ryanair, Southwest and United are the airlines worst hit by he FAA freezing Boeing 737 production rates at 38 a month leads to delivery delays for many orders, as indicated by LNA.

Despite the approved production rate, Boeing’s actual production for the 737 was reported to be around 31 per month, dropping even lower, possibly to 20 per month in certain periods.

Boeing utilized its inventory of 737 MAXes from the initial nine months of the grounding to make up for the gap in deliveries. Challenges are exacerbated by the recent incident involving an emergency door plug on an Alaska Airlines Flight 1282, affecting planned 2024 deliveries.
