AerCap chief executive Gus Kelly’s stake in the world’s largest aircraft lessor has surged to $430m (€396m) over the past year, propelled by the company’s shares reaching all-time highs.
Dublin-headquartered AerCap has experienced growth in its value due to increased aircraft leasing rates resulting from a global commercial jet shortage, coinciding with a post-pandemic resurgence in air travel and despite ongoing geopolitical tensions.
The demand-supply mismatch in the aircraft leasing market is anticipated to persist for several years, presenting favourable conditions for AerCap’s operations amid the ongoing recovery in aviation activities.
