Royal Caribbean International has postponed the introduction of the new Star of the Seas, leading to the cancellation of its two initial sailings, with the ship’s revenue service now scheduled to start on August 31, 2025.
Passengers booked on the cancelled cruises are urged to contact Royal Caribbean or their travel agents for alternative arrangements, including transferring their reservation to the new inaugural cruise on August 31, 2025, or moving to other ships under different conditions.
Following in the footsteps of the 2023-built Icon of the Seas, the Star of the Seas will operate year-round cruises from Port Canaveral, offering LNG-powered seven-night voyages to various Caribbean and Bahamian destinations.
The Star’s maiden voyage from Port Canaveral will feature a Western Caribbean itinerary visiting Cozumel and Costa Maya in Mexico, Roatán in Honduras, and Royal Caribbean International’s private island in the Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay. An additional Icon-Class ship from Meyer Turku is expected to enter service in Spring 2026.
