Fáilte Ireland has finalised the Cork Harbour Tourism Plan to enhance the visitor experience and unlock tourism potential, in partnership with local councils and Port of Cork.
The plan is part of Fáilte Ireland’s five-year Destination and Experience Development Plan for Cork City, Harbour, and East Cork, aiming to create a focal point for Cork’s maritime story and improve visitor facilities.
The focus of the plan is to increase visitor numbers to Cork Harbour by enhancing the uniqueness of the area, including Cork Harbour islands, and improving accessibility, interpretation, and visitor flow.
Brian O’ Flynn from Fáilte Ireland highlighted the goal of the plan to attract both domestic and international visitors: “the plan will be key in enhancing the unique tourism offering in Cork harbour to encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more, which will bring significant benefits for the local economy and community and the wider region.”
