
The third Waterford rural tourism networking event was held at the Park Hotel Dungarvan, with nearly 50 tourism businesses attending.
The event focused on enhancing tourism offerings in Waterford through collaboration among businesses in five cluster areas.
Updates and supports were provided by Fáilte Ireland, Waterford City and County Council, and Waterford Local Enterprise Office.
Attendees were introduced to the network’s new coordinator, Julie O’Brien, who conducted a Business of Tourism workshop to improve understanding of the industry.
Mary Houlihan of Fáilte Ireland presented the Waterford Destination and Experience Development Plan (DEDP) to develop tourism in Waterford.
Waterford’s potential as a tourism destination and the importance of sustainable growth in rural tourism were highlighted throughout the event, with a focus on supporting local businesses and communities.
