Paddy Comyn, Ryanair’s head of international markets, has left the airline after a short six-month tenure in the communications role, expressing that Ryanair poses unique challenges on his LinkedIn profile.

He said: “Ryanair is a unique environment, one Ireland can be proud of, but one that comes with particular challenges too. If you know, you know. After a dynamic and insightful six months at Ryanair, I’ve decided it is best to embark on a new chapter in my career. This decision comes after much reflection on my long-term career aspirations and the path I want to pursue.”

He previously worked for the AA as the head of communications before joining Ryanair and was also the head of group communications at Volkswagen Group Ireland.

Comments on his post included Michael Corcoran, a former head of social and creative content at Ryanair who left the airline last year amidst what was understood to be an incident involving a senior executive.

Comyn managed a team at Ryanair responsible for coordinating media interactions across various European markets.

Comyn mentioned that working with Ryanair was enriching and enlightening, but he decided to move on to a new chapter in his career after reflecting on his long-term aspirations and desired path.

Reports indicate a dispute within the social media team at Ryanair, leading to several key members, including Corcoran, leaving the airline; Ryanair asserted the strong demand for digital and IT specialists drove the resignations.
