The CEO of Vietnam Airlines has announced the grounding of twelve of tis twenty A321-200Ns, 20pc of its fleet, due to Pratt & Whitney engine issues. Nine of the airline’s A321-200Ns are already out-of-service.

Le Hong Ha said the aircraft will be out-of-service for up to 300 days because supply chain disruptions have doubled the maintenance time.

VietJetAir, another operator in Vietnam, also has nine A321-200Ns grounded due to similar issues.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam advises carriers to have backup plans for out-of-service aircraft, particularly focusing on A321N fleets.
