Uber will pay A$272m to Australian taxi drivers and private hire operators to settle a class action legal action.
A law firm representing claimed for 8,000 drivers’ loss of earnings due to Uber’s “aggressive” entry into the market.
The settlement is awaiting court approval but once finalised, it will put legacy issues with taxi compensation schemes in the past for Uber.
