Landowners in Clew Bay, Co Mayo have lodged objections to the proposed greenway route due, they say to environmental concerns.

They propose upgrading existing roadside route between Westport and Murrisk village instead of the separated greenway. Forty landowners say they will be impacted if the route goes ahead.

Mayo County Council and TII say they aim to provide a continuous high-quality loop, consulting with landowners while landowners argue for greenway alongside existing cycle and walkway, expressing concerns about ecological damage and lack of consultation and say their farms will be split by the proposed greenway.
