Hopes are high in West Kerry for a major announcement by Government Ministers about the State acquisition of land at the Conor Pass.

Monday’s cabinet meeting will consider the purchase of two tracts of land close to Dingle which were put on the market last year comprising 561.3 hectares (1,387 acres). A mixture of woodland, grazing and lake, negotiations are being finalised on their sale of for tourism development and a national park.

While there is no official confirmation, it is understood that both tracts have been sold and negotiations are being finalised for the sale of the entire landbank.
