Belfast City Airport was the only Irish airport shortlisted for the Routes Europe 2024 awards at Routes Europe 2024 in Aarhus, Denmark.

Budapest airport was named the overall winner at the Routes Europe 2024 awards, also winning the 5-20m passengers category for its commitment to excellence and innovation in airport operations and marketing strategies.

Athens international airport won the over 20m passengers category. Albrecht Dürer Nürnberg won the under 5m passengers category

The awards, voted for and judged by airlines, recognize organizations that have excelled in route development marketing activities.

In the ‘under 5m passengers’ category, George Best Belfast City Airport was short listed alongside Albrecht Dürer Nürnberg (winners), Kalamata, Tallinn, and Vilnius airports.

The airports shortlisted in the 5m–20m passenger category were: Budapest (winners), Larnaka, Prague, Riga. and Thessaloniki.

The airports shortlisted in the over 20m passenger category were: Athens (winners), Brussels, Istanbul, Rome Fiumicino and Vienna.

Budapest Airport takes top honour of Overall Winner at Routes Europe Awards 2024, along with triumphing in the 5-20 Million Passengers category. Balázs Bogáts, CCO (left) says: “Together we have cultivated a hub of connectivity, efficiency, and passenger satisfaction.”
