Advanced works have begun on the Iveagh Markets by Dublin City Council, which include the removal of loose materials, installation of safe access routes, crash decks, and vegetation removal. Francis Haughey Building Contractors are conducting these works, expected to finish in 8 weeks.

The works are part of a 2 Stage Works Programme led by the Integrated Design Team with Howley Hayes Cooney Architecture and other collaborators to prepare for a comprehensive repair program following Stage 1 completion.

The repair program includes extensive repairs to roofs, valleys, rainwater disposal systems, windows, doors, structural columns, walls, parapets, and lead paint removal. Stage 2 works are set to begin in Q4 2024 and may require 12 to 18 months for completion. Dublin City Council is engaged in legal proceedings related to the Iveagh Markets that are currently sub judice.
