Reports from Iceland are questioning the future of Eagle Air, an Icelandic airline which offers domestic flights, charter services, and adventure tours in Iceland.
Eagle Air operates three Jetstream 32 pressurised turboprop aircraft and one Dornier 328 since 2018.
Founded in 1970 by Hörður Guðmundsson, the airline initially focused on ambulance and mail services in the Westfjords
Eagle Air expanded into international charter flights in the 1980s and accepted assignments from the International Red Cross in the 1990s
In 2018, the airline purchased a 32-seat Dornier 328 airliner, and in 2023 a stake in the company was bought by Mýflug and other investors.
