Shannon Airport anticipates 46,000 passengers passing through during the May Bank Holiday weekend, marking it as the busiest period so far this year.

CEO Mary Considine highlighted the airport’s readiness for the surge in passenger traffic, ensuring a seamless travel experience for visitors embarking on city breaks or seeking sunshine escapes.

The airport currently operates 33 routes to 11 countries within the EU, UK, and US, with a new daily service to New York-JFK starting on May 25th and additional holiday services with increased frequency to popular destinations like Alicante, Faro, and London.

Considine noted the mix of Irish travellers and tourists exploring the Wild Atlantic Way region, expecting a positive economic impact from increased tourism throughout the summer, while encouraging passengers to pre-book parking online for convenience.
