The Ryanair share price fell by 7.7pc after Michael O’Leary announced that airfares for the summer will be lower than previously anticipated, with pricing expected to be flat to 5pc up, rather than the previously estimated 5pc to 10pc increase due to Boeing and Airbus supply difficulties.

At a press conference in Brussels, Mr O’Leary revealed that ticket prices were not increasing as fast as had been expected, which was “surprising”.

Ryanair’s shares dropped by while easyJet, Lufthansa, and Wizz Air also experienced slight declines in their stock prices.
