Kilkenny awarded €200,000 for renovation of publicly owned derelict buildings

Kilkenny has been chosen to receive €200,000 for the renovation and reuse of publicly owned vacant or derelict buildings under THRIVE, a scheme benefiting 26 towns and cities.

The aim of the scheme is to allow local authorities and citizens to reimagine town and city centres through the renovation of vacant or derelict buildings.

Funding has also been awarded to 25 other towns and cities in addition to Kilkenny.Government officials highlight the importance of the Town Centre First Initiative in revitalising communities and enhancing heritage buildings to rejuvenate town centres
