The SEEK Urban Arts Festival in Dundalk is set to begin this weekend, featuring top street artists from around the world creating art on the town’s streets.

The festival, a week-long celebration of art and culture, is highly anticipated by locals and visitors.

The festival will explore themes such as The Morrigan, Edward the Bruce, Peter Rice, Industrial Heritage, and Cúchulainn through the work of artists like L7Matrix and Monkeybird.

Activities at the festival include children’s spray-painting workshops, guided walking tours to see artists at work, and evening strEAT tour experiences. The event is made possible with sponsorship from various organizations and sponsors.

Town Centre Commercial Manager, Martin McElligott said “the SEEK Urban Arts Festival has a special place in the hearts of local people, they are really invested in the murals and the stories behind the artwork created each year. The murals also captivate the attention of visiting tourists, active retired groups, societies and associations who have all enjoyed one of our famous walking tours. The murals have become a tangible tool with which to tell Dundalk’s unique story. This year’s festival is sponsored by Creative Ireland, The Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Fáilte Ireland, Dundalk Credit Union, Hire Direct, Don Keating, Mo Chara, and McAteers The Good Food House.
