An Australian man arrested after allegedly running naked down the aisle of an aircraft during a flight from Perth to Melbourne, causing the plane to turn around, has been detained in hospital.
The man reportedly knocked over a flight attendant during his sprint, prompting the police to be waiting at Perth Airport upon the aircraft’s return.
The man was detained and transferred to a hospital for assessment, where he currently remains.
Virgin Australia issued an apology to passengers affected by the incident and stated that the disruptive passenger will appear in court on 14 June, although he has not been formally charged.
