Pre-conference meetings are taking place today at the 80th IATA Annual General Meeting and World Air Transport Summit, being held in Dubai, UAE, for the first time, hosted by Emirates Airline.
Over 1,500 industry leaders, government officials, and media are expected to attend, with Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri giving the opening keynote speech.
Key topics at the summit include achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050, advancing sustainability with sustainable aviation fuel and carbon removals, and addressing challenges facing the airline industry.
The event will also feature the fifth edition of the IATA diversity and inclusion awards, recognizing efforts to improve gender balance in aviation and highlighting the benefits of global connectivity in supporting economic growth and employment.
