SAS will become ‘a contributing partner’ of SkyTeam – SAS CEO Anko van der Werff

SAS Group CEO Anko van der Werff told a briefing at the IATA congress in Dubai that SAS would become “a contributing partner” of SkyTeam.

Van der Werff acknowledged that there is a lot of process work still needed for the alliance entry

The CEO mentioned that the entry process into SkyTeam is expected to be completed in a shorter timeframe than usual, aiming for six to nine months instead of the typical 18 to 24 months.

The airline was experience roadblocks on the IT side as nit loaded fares but was confident that they would be ready to join in October. 

Patrick Roux of SkyTeam said that upon SAS’s joining the alliance now flew to the southernmost airport in the world in Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego and to the northernmost, Longyearbyen in Svalbard.
