A 19-year-old man, Jay Dalziel from Motherwell, was arrested at Shannon Airport after allegedly assaulting a woman in her twenties on a flight from Glasgow to Tenerife.
The aircraft was redirected to Shannon Airport where law enforcement officials boarded the aircraft to address the situation.
Gardaí responded to reports of a disturbance on the flight around 5:30pm. The youth was detained at Shannon garda station in County Clare and charged with two counts of serious assault against passengers Annie Hendry and John Mills. His passport was returned to allow him return to Scotland.
