The FAA in the United States has investigated the use of titanium which may have come from China and is used in Airbus and Boeing aircraft after alert from supplier Spirit AeroSystems

Boeing reported voluntary disclosure to the FAA regarding material procured with falsified records from a distributor.

Spirit AeroSystems found corrosion in titanium parts and has launched an investigation to verify if they meet aviation-grade standards despite fake documentation.

Tests so far have not shown any issues affecting airworthiness of the aircraft, potentially affected parts being proactively removed during assembly.
