Air France-KLM has urged Paris Aéroport to enhance Paris CDG’s infrastructure, citing issues like the shortage of jetways, contact gates, and the distant location of maintenance hangars as factors that impact aircraft parking and operating costs.

The airline group’s CEO Ben Smith emphasized the need for improvements at Charles de Gaulle airport and expressed dissatisfaction over the existing situation, despite the cancellation of Terminal 4 in 2021.

Air France-KLM operates a majority of Charles de Gaulle’s weekly scheduled flights, with Air France accounting for 53.12pc and KLM for 0.38pc.

In response to supply chain bottlenecks affecting the aerospace industry, the airline has doubled the number of backup aircraft for the summer, utilizing wet-lease agreements with various third-party sources to address delays caused by missing parts in aircraft components.
