
Tours taking place at Glasnevin Cemetery across the Summer months include their most popular Irish History Tour those who want to learn more about the figures involved in key events such as the 1916 Rising, the War of Independence and the Civil War.
- A visit to the O’Connell Tower can be added to this tour or visited separately. The tower, which is accessed only through O’Connell’s crypt at the cemetery, now offers an audio guide and exhibits across its six levels, enhancing visitor’s experience as they climb to the top.
- The Women in History Tour shines a light on the fascinating stories of the extraordinary women buried in Glasnevin Cemetery, all of whom played pivotal roles in shaping the course of Irish history, including Constance Markiewicz and Maud Gonne MacBride.
- The Dead Interesting Tour, set in the older part of the graveyard includes visits to the resting place of renowned writer Brendan Behan, poet and novelist Rosa Mulholland, as well as an insight into the earliest history of Glasnevin with the first burial, young Michael Carey in February 1832.
