
Air Europa flight UX45 from Madrid to Montevideo encountered turbulence, resulting in injuries to at least 30 passengers.
The flight diverted to Natal, Brazil where it landed and was met by emergency services.
The extent of injuries and damage to the aircraft’s interior is unclear at this time.
The flight had 350 passengers on board and crew did not declare a formal emergency during the incident.
The aircraft was a 6.3 year old Boeing 787-9, registered EC-MTI which has been in operational service since March 2018, leased from Dublin based Avolon.
