It has been revealed that Wicklow County Council spent €550,000 on consultants hired for the implementation of the proposed Blessington Greenway project.
The proposed scheme aims to provide a predominately off-road shared use path for pedestrians and cyclists.
The council says the significant expenditure on consultants indicates the complexity and scale of the Blessington Greenway project.
