Diarmuid Ó’Conghaile, former CEO designate of Ireland’s aviation regulator IAA, has been promoted to chief operating officer of Wizz Air after joining the company two years ago

Ó’Conghaile left his role as chief executive designate at the Irish Aviation Authority in August 2022

Shortly after his departure, Wizz Air announced his appointment as CEO of Wizz Air Malta.

Wizz Air has promoted Michael Delehant to senior chief commercial and operations officer following the departure of president Robert Carey, who is leaving to pursue other interests.

Jozsef Varadi, the chief executive of Wizz Air, will temporarily take over commercial leadership responsibilities for three months until Delehant assumes the role in October.

Delehant, a former Southwest Airlines executive, will be responsible for overseeing the group’s operational and commercial activities.

Mauro Peneda will take over Diarmuid O’Conghaile ‘s position at Wizz Air Malta.
