Swiss expects up to 14 aircraft to be grounded in 2024 due to ongoing Pratt & Whitney PW1000G engine issues, with the problem possibly persisting until 2026.
The airline is in talks with Pratt & Whitney, but no details regarding compensation for the Zurich-based carrier have been disclosed.
Currently, Swiss has three A220-300s, four A320-200Ns, and two A321-200NX inactive out of its fleet of 88 aircraft.
Swiss is relying on wet-leased aircraft, including nine A220-300s from airBaltic and various Embraer planes from Helvetic Airways, to maintain operations.
