Iberia opens WhatsApp check-in for passengers

Iberia has expanded its WhatsApp services for passengers traveling to selected destinations, allowing for check-in, boarding pass retrieval, reservation review, and flight notifications.

The WhatsApp channel also allows for upcoming features such as making payments for additional services like luggage allowances, with dedicated channels for specific customer segments.

Air France also launched a 24/7 WhatsApp customer service channel last year with instant answers from a chatbot and contact with representatives for more specific inquiries.

Iberia has introduced revamped long-haul inflight menus featuring new dishes in business, premium economy, and economy classes, as well as offering a pre-landing service of Magnum ice creams and a hot sandwich, along with a Cabify voucher for selected customers for their transport to the airport.
