Frankfurt airport, Germany’s busiest, suspended flights on Thursday morning due to climate activists blocking runways by gluing themselves to the tarmac.

Flights from Dublin LH983@05.55 & LH977@09:05 and inbound LH976 were among hundreds of flights cancelled.

Passengers were advised not to go to the airport and to check their flight status for updates

The airport recommended allowing extra travel time due to the temporary suspension of flights

The activists’ actions disrupted air travel operations and caused inconvenience for travellers.
