A Virgin Atlantic radio advertisement claiming the airline was the first to fly transatlantic on 100pc sustainable aviation fuel has been banned for misleading consumers.
The ad, heard on November 24, promoted the airline’s Flight 100 from London Heathrow to New York’s JFK, stating it would make Virgin Atlantic the first commercial airline to achieve this milestone.
The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) deemed the claim misleading, leading to the ban of the advertisement.
The ruling highlights the importance of accurate and transparent advertising practices in the aviation industry to avoid misleading consumers.
