The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has given approval for Arik Air to resume domestic flights after a weeklong grounding.

The approval follows a resolution reached between the airline and creditor Atlas Petroleum International, with the intervention of aviation officials.

Arik Air is scheduled to resume four flights on August 8, after suffering heavy revenue losses during the grounding period.

The grounding of Arik Air’s aircraft by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency was due to a court order to recover the airline’s debt to Atlas Petroleum, with Arik Air under the receivership of the state-run Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria since 2017.
