The four Dublin Local Authorities, united under the Active City Dublin initiative, have extended the deadline for the Parks & Trails Challenge until the end of August due to its popularity, aiming to encourage people to explore local parks and trails in Dublin and beyond.

Participants in the challenge have the opportunity to win prizes, including vouchers for gym membership and Decathlon, with the ultimate prize being a family-sized tent from Decathlon for the winner who completes the most walks out of the 24 designated locations in each of the council areas.

The challenge is accessible through the Dublin Trails App, where all 24 locations are listed along with maps for each walk; participants can enter by scanning QR codes at the parks they visit to update their profile on the app.
