Border force staff at Heathrow airport are planning a four-day strike from August 31 to September 3, followed by more than two weeks of industrial action

The dispute over changes to terms and conditions including new inflexible rosters cited as reason for strike

The strike is coinciding with end of school summer holidays in Ireland, impacting Irish holidaymakers with connecting flights through Heathrow

The strike will affect transfer passengers at the airport, but not hose travelling to and from Ireland. It is expected to cause queues but not flight cancellations, passengers urged to prepare for potential disruption
