A passenger opened an emergency exit door and climbing out of a Jetstar flight in Melbourne after it landed from Sydney.

The passenger’s action triggered the deployment of an emergency slide from the plane’s wing to the ground, but the man instead walked along the wing and climbed down from one of the Airbus A320’s engines.

Australian Federal Police arrested the man for aggressive behaviour and breaching aircraft safety protocols, with passengers expressing shock and fear at the erratic actions of the individual onboard.

Despite efforts to prevent the man from opening the emergency exit, he managed to escape the plane, prompting swift intervention from authorities and ground crew at Melbourne Airport to ensure the safety of all passengers and staff involved.
