Dublin based Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance operator, reported €1.2bn in revenue for the first half of 2024, with a 34pc growth in earnings (Ebitda) year-on-year to €179m.

Founded in Lithuania by chairman Gediminas Ziemelis but based in Leopardstown since last year, the group offers crewed aircraft on a “wet-lease” basis to airlines, utilising a fleet of 214 planes under brands like SmartLynx Airlines, Avion Express, and AirExplore, among others.

Avia Solutions Group has significantly expanded its fleet since 2020 and borrowed $300m during the period to support its operations, with plans to further grow the fleet to 400 planes by 2027 or 2028, potentially shifting to owning more aircraft outright.
