Lufthansa Group’s Discover Airlines plans to increase its fleet to 33 aircraft by mid-2027, including new long-haul products.
The leisure carrier, launched in 2021 as Eurowings Discover and rebranded as Discover Airlines, operates long-haul routes to destinations like Bridgetown, Cancun, and Las Vegas, as well as short-haul services in Europe.
Discover Airlines will retire its A330-200s and introduce additional A330-300s and A320s to the fleet by 2027.
The carrier will refurbish the interiors of its A330-300s, providing a new business class cabin with direct aisle access, improved premium economy, and economy seating. Further details on the product renewal are to be announced.
Bernd Bauer, CEO of Discover Airlines, said: “Following our launch three years ago and the successful build-up of our airline, we are now taking the next steps to further consolidate our position as a leisure airline in Germany and to sustainably strengthen the Lufthansa Group’s market presence in the growing leisure travel segment. With additional capacity and the upgrade to a next-generation product, we will be able to serve the leisure travel segment even more comprehensively, efficiently and flexibly in the future. We look forward to accompanying even more people on their holiday in the future.”
