American Airlines is to resume flights to Scotland for the first time since 2019, launching a daily seasonal service between Philadelphia and Edinburgh starting on May 24, 2025, through October.
The flights will be operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft, with Edinburgh departures scheduled for 11:35 AM, arriving in Philadelphia at 2:00 PM, and the return leaving Philadelphia at 7:05 PM, landing in Edinburgh at 7:00 AM the following day.
Currently, there are no nonstop flights between Philadelphia and Edinburgh, although American Airlines and British Airways offer year-round services between Philadelphia and London Heathrow.
This new route will enhance travel options for Scottish customers, connecting them to one of the fastest-growing U.S. hubs in Philadelphia, alongside existing transatlantic services from other airlines like Delta and United.
