Icelandair will receive its first A321-200NX(LR) aircraft, TF-IAA, in November 2024, which has recently been painted at Airbus’s facility in Hamburg Finkenwerder.
Following the paint job, the aircraft will undergo engine installation, seating arrangements, and entertainment system setup before Airbus conducts test flights.
By summer 2025, Icelandair plans to expand its fleet with a total of four Airbus A321neo(LR) aircraft, in addition to plans for seven A321neo(LR) and thirteen A321-200NY(XLR) models, the latter scheduled for delivery in 2029.
The new A320neo family aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100 GTF engines, while Icelandair’s current fleet consists of 41 aircraft, including various models of the Boeing 737, 757, and 767, as well as Dash 8 turboprops.
