Wizz Air Holdings has decided to focus on developing Saudi Arabia as an inbound market instead of establishing a joint venture with a local airline, as previously considered.

The low-cost carrier will launch its first Saudi route from London Gatwick to Jeddah International in March 2025, operated by Wizz Air UK using an A321-200NY(XLR).

Wizz Air, along with its subsidiaries, already serves several Saudi cities, including Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and Madinah.

The CEO identified London-Middle East as a key market for the A321-200NY(XLR), despite earlier aspirations of a potential fleet of 50 aircraft based in Saudi Arabia to capitalize on the country’s aviation growth strategy.
