Bristow Ireland has brought its new AW189 helicopter on tour in advance of a contract to provide Search and Rescue operations for the Irish Coast Guard from four bases: Waterford, Weston, Sligo, and Shannon.
Stakeholders across the country have been given a first-hand look at the AW189 helicopter during a tour by Bristow Ireland crews, emphasizing the importance of collaboration with emergency services.
Bristow teams visited various locations, including Marine Rescue Co-ordination Sub-centres and worked with the Dublin Fire Brigade’s Marine Incident Response Group to demonstrate the helicopter’s capabilities.
The transition to the new contract and the integration of the AW189 and other equipment is set to begin this autumn, with full operational capabilities expected to be achieved by 2025.
