Edinburgh Airport has commenced a £5.8m project to revamp its check-in hall, with works commencing last Tuesday, targeting Zones A and D, which serve Ryanair and Jet2, respectively.
Zone A will receive a full redesign with a 70pc increase in space, new digital wayfinding, video walls, and self-service machines, while Zone D will also see the introduction of digital wayfinding and an open collector belt for luggage.
Check-in desks in both zones will be reconfigured for improved passenger flow, and the areas will feature a fresh design with an open ceiling to enhance the environment.
The project is expected to be completed by spring 2025, and while improvements are being made, passengers may experience some disruptions; the changes follow VINCI Airports’ majority stake acquisition of Edinburgh Airport earlier this year.
