Etihad Airways is in preliminary discussions with Airbus and Boeing regarding a potential order for new large widebody aircraft, specifically considering the A350 and B777X models.

Sources indicate that while conversations are ongoing, the airline does not anticipate finalizing any orders in the near future and may even decide against placing an order altogether.

The airline currently operates a mixed fleet that includes five A350-1000s, with a total of fifteen additional orders from Airbus, and also holds orders for several B777 variants.

Etihad’s existing widebody fleet includes ten A380-800s, thirty-three B787-9s, and ten B787-10s, showcasing its extensive commitment to both Airbus and Boeing products.
