The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is seeking an additional €1.2m in fee revenue for the upcoming year to address litigation costs arising from challenges by Ryanair, Aer Lingus, and the DAA regarding passenger caps at Dublin Airport.

The total regulatory charge for take-off and landing slots is expected to increase from €700,000 to €1.9m to cover these additional legal expenses.

The High Court litigation involves multiple stakeholders, including a group of US carriers, as they contest the imposed limits on passenger numbers at Dublin Airport.

This request for increased fees aims to ensure the IAA can sustain its operations amid ongoing legal disputes impacting airport capacity management.
