Turkish Airlines plans to modify up to five A350-1000 aircraft to enable nonstop flights to Australia and potentially New Zealand by 2026, enhancing their long-haul service.
The newly configured A350-1000s will feature a higher ratio of business class seats to reduce weight and increase flying range, making nonstop operations more economically feasible.
Currently, Turkish Airlines operates thrice-weekly flights to Melbourne and four weekly to Sydney with refueling stops in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, respectively.
The introduction of the A350-1000 will also facilitate future direct routes to Auckland and expand Turkish Airlines’ reach into South America.
