Construction on the Adare Bypass is scheduled to begin in January, as confirmed by Limerick City and County Council, with John Sisk and Son (Holdings) Ltd and Sorensen Civil Engineering Ltd awarded the contract for the project.
The government is investing €155m in this infrastructure initiative, which includes preliminary works such as utility service diversions, hedge clearance, and the construction of three railway bridges.
The new 7 km bypass aims to alleviate congestion on the N21 route through Adare village, diverting heavy goods vehicles and improving traffic flow ahead of the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor.
Local officials, including Mayor John Moran and Minister Patrick O’Donovan, expressed their commitment to the project, recognizing both the significance of the development and the challenges that lie ahead as construction progresses.
