AJet, a low-cost airline based in Türkiye and a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines, is seeking 36 additional aircraft to compensate for delays in Boeing deliveries as part of its growth strategy.
The airline is focusing on leasing aircraft from Airbus while in talks with lessors for both leasing and purchasing options to meet its expansion goals despite challenges with Boeing.
Currently operating a modest fleet including eight B737-800s, AJet plans to grow to a fleet of 200 narrowbody aircraft by 2033 and has received aircraft commitments from its parent company, Turkish Airlines.
AJet does not have direct orders with Boeing but continues to negotiate for B737 MAX aircraft, while also sourcing smaller batches of aircraft from various lessors to ensure its operational needs are met.
