Fáilte Ireland has proposed transforming the former tourist information centre in the vacant St Andrew’s Church site on Suffolk Street, Dublin, into a food hall aimed at promoting Irish food heritage and attracting culinary tourists to the city.

The church building, which has a history dating back to 1670, spans almost 20,000 sq ft over three levels in a prime location near Grafton Street.

Fáilte Ireland emphasized that the food hall could contribute to the Irish economy, which benefits from food tourism generating around €2bn annually, while also helping to create 30 to 40 full and part-time jobs.

The redevelopment plan aims to provide high-quality food experiences, repurposing a historic structure and adding to Dublin’s vibrant culinary scene.
